Getting to know your specialist

Dr Michelle Emerson is a fertility specialist and gynaecologist dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate their fertility journey with clarity, compassion, and evidence-based care.

She understands that fertility treatment can be one of the most emotional and uncertain times in a person's life. Her approach combines advanced reproductive medicine with clear communication and personalised care, ensuring patients feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout their journey.

Dr Emerson is currently completing subspecialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) at Melbourne IVF, one of Australia's leading fertility clinics. CREI represents the highest level of specialist training in reproductive medicine in Australia and New Zealand, providing expertise in fertility treatment, reproductive endocrinology, and advanced reproductive surgery.

Prior to Melbourne IVF, Dr Emerson trained within the Reproductive Services Unit at The Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne, where she gained extensive experience caring for patients with complex fertility challenges, urgent fertility preservation, recurrent pregnancy loss, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, and other reproductive conditions.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Emerson is actively involved in research, education, and advancing evidence-based fertility care. Her practice is guided by three core principles: evidence, empathy, and empowerment.

Whether supporting patients through fertility investigations, IVF treatment, egg freezing, recurrent pregnancy loss, or reproductive planning, Dr Emerson's goal is to provide expert care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
